Safety vests use reflective striping to enhance visibility. These stripes are coated with a material containing tiny microspheres that bounce incoming light directly back toward its source. When illuminated by headlights or other bright lights, the coating appears almost as bright as the light itself. The retroreflective spheres are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye.

You are right Abhijit, I should start including scale bars probably. Nevertheless, each microsphere is about 30 to 40 μm in size.
