Under Microscope

It's another world under the microscope.

In this image, the eye of a butterfly is seen. At this scale, the eye and structures surrounding it appear strikingly different than expected. Individual scales of the insect make it look almost furry. At the center, the composite eye features thousands of small eye pieces packed in a honeycomb pattern.
